Lori Katz is a Washington, DC area artist working primarily in clay and mixed-media painting. She is known for the striking strength and simplicity of her work. Lori's current body of work is an exploration of surface and texture that embodies literal and metaphorical connection, pieces that stand on their own and as components that thrive within the entirety of a larger whole.

Each slab-built stoneware or porcelain wall square measures approximately 10”x10”x2”, is backed on wood and wired to hang from a picture hook.

Additions to the wet stoneware or porcelain may include:
-slip, which is a liquid form of clay
-nichrome wire, which has a high melting point so is added during the construction of a piece and goes through all firings as an integral part of a finished piece.
-ceramic stains
-an oil paint and cold wax surface
-metal leaf
-patina
