Anvil Vase by Mimi Logothetis

A wide ceramic vase hand-built by ceramic artist Mimi Logothetis. Mimi uses a proprietary printing technique to apply graphics referencing historical Greek pottery and transferware traditions. Both as image and pattern or texture, the wet clay is decorated, to tell stories or wry jokes. Her work focuses on environmental issues, man vs. nature and human interpersonal issues, man vs. man. Sculpturally, Mimi uses light inside very thin, translucent walls to illuminate ideas from within.
