We are heading south to New Orleans and we can’t wait! JazzFest has great art, great food and great music! We will be in the Contemporary Crafts section, which is set amongst the blues, jazz and gospel music tents in Heritage Square. Contemporary Crafts is a nationally recognized showcase of alluring handcrafted clothing, beautiful leather goods and musical instruments, along with a brilliant array of paintings, photographs, sculptures and, of course, irresistible jewelry. We are very excited to announce that Rebecca Myers Collection will be showing the work of Wendy Jachman April 12-June 15.

The subject and symbolism of pomegranates inspired artist Wendy Jachman to create a collection of painting and assemblages that are in the style and spirit of other female artists, using this beautiful fruit as a vehicle. This collection of work, “A Pomegranate by Any Other Name”, addresses many celebratory and disquieting issues relating to feminism and women’s place in the world and art world. There are individual narratives and universal stories that resonate with the various artist’s expressiveness and historical references.

Influenced at an early age by her mother, Wendy was exposed to artful expression and creativity. This inspired and enabled the pursuit of an education and career as an artist. She received a B.F.A. in Fabric Design from Syracuse University, following a Foundation year at MICA. The exposure to a curriculum in fine arts, fabric design and weaving inspired a lifelong career of creating and making purposeful and narrative tapestries for many nonprofit institutions and private art collections. Her tapestries are permanently displayed in health care facilities, educational campuses and places of worship. Jachman has been commissioned to design and install large tapestry art pieces to "warm" the common spaces and deliver a meaningful message in places that include: Edward Myerberg Senior Center; LifebridgeHealth; Johns Hopkins Medical Institution; Sheppard Pratt; Johns Hopkins University; Duke University; Gilman School; Bolton Street Synagogue and Har Sinai Congregation.

Pat Flynn Joins us at Rebecca Myers Collection in Cross Keys

Pat Flynn is a goldsmith who lives and works in High Falls, New York. His iconic nail bracelets combine blackened iron with 22 karat and 18 karat yellow gold, 18 karat palladium white gold, diamonds and pearls. His larger cuff bracelets incorporate hinges and box clasps that not only suit functionality for the wearer, but display meticulous craftsmanship.

Each piece of jewelry is hand forged by Pat, often times incorporating fused 22 karat gold onto the iron. Pat is a master of subtle texture, working the surface with varying tools from the hammer and graver, to etching and filing. This attention to detail, technical control, and combination of disparate materials creates unparalleled elegance in his jewelry.

Cherry Creek Arts Festival

Cherry Creek Arts Festival (CCAF) is a world-class and award-winning celebration of visual, culinary and performing arts.
